Students who complete the nursing in Turkey are given the title of “Specialist Nurse”. Specialist nurses work in therapeutic and preventive health services.

In the therapeutic service, the nurse treats the individual as a physiological, psychological and social whole and provides care. While giving this care, it takes into account and performs basic human needs such as breathing, nutrition, excretion, movement and proper position, sleep, rest, proper clothing, body temperature, cleaning, applies the prescribed treatments for the patient, monitors the patient, keeps a written report.

The nurse also assists the patient in the examination and diagnosis procedures in the outpatient clinics, gives descriptive information to the patient, prepares the physical environment in the operating room, helps the surgical team, pre-care the patient in the recovery room.

In the field of preventive healthcare, nurses take part in carrying out maternal and child health and family planning services, providing health education, protection from infectious diseases, and collecting and evaluating statistical information.

It assists in continuous control and treatment in industry, occupational and school health programs, and provides health education and counseling.

Working Areas of Nurses;

Graduates from Nursing in Turkey can work as service nurses, service head nurse, clinical nurse and hospital head nurse in all private or public health institutions.

In addition to basic nursing education, nurses who have received a teaching certificate and are trained at undergraduate level can work in health vocational high schools and nursing schools and contribute to education, training and research activities.
